Programs
All students receive an initial assessment to determine their literacy skills, personal goals and appropriate program placement.
Adult Basic Education (ABE)
This free program is designed for adults who speak English but read or write below a 5th grade level. There are many resources available; including the Laubach Way to Reading This four-book series takes students from zero reading ability to an eighth-grade comprehension level.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
This free program is for adults who cannot speak, read or understand English. There are a variety of resources, including the Laubach Way to English, helping the adult learner progress to the ABE program.
Dyslexia
Individuals with dyslexia receive tutoring help by using the Barton Reading and Spelling System.
Basic Math
We can provide basic math tutoring to adults.
Tutoring Locations
Our office at 119 Hobson offers a safe and secure location with several private and group tutoring classrooms. A list of alternative sites is available, including the Garland County Library. Tutors may not tutor in private homes.
